About the Health Outreach Worker Program
Goals/Objectives:
To improve aboriginal health through the provision of health promotion, education, referrals and linkages to aboriginal cultural resources as well as mainstream services.
Target:
Urban aboriginals of all ages.
Services Provided:
- Provides access to traditional and mainstream health services
- Offers traditional support
- Access to health education, information and training
- Workshops
- One-on-one supports
- Advocacy
- To ensure that the health needs of community members are addressed in a cultural and holistic manner
